MINIBAY V2 is a compact 40-point patch bay that puts a full studio routing hub on your desk, no 19-inch rack required. Twenty 6.35 mm TRS sockets on the back break out into forty 3.5 mm patch points on top, eurorack style, so every instrument, effect and mixer channel is one short cable away.

The layout is built around a simple workflow: instruments on Row A, mixer channels on Row B, effects in the FX rows. Reach up to the effects, reach down to the mixer. Twelve normalling switches sit beneath a small two-screw hatch on the top panel, a set-and-forget configuration that lets A/B pairs pass through automatically until you patch something new. Two built-in 3-channel passive mixers with dedicated patch points handle quick submixes without leaving the bay.

Most gear connects with standard insert cables, two mono channels per rear socket, which is how MINIBAY V2 packs this much routing into a desktop footprint. TRS cables handle stereo and balanced connections, and the patch points are spaced for a comfortable grip, even for fat fingers.

It's for everyone. And it's almost perfect.

Very simple in a beautiful way. Size, functionality, number of patch points, normalization, layout – all of it feels just right 🙂
I use it in a small synth and guitar setup, and it opens up a whole new world of building interesting effect chains on the fly, even for live use.

My only critique: the jacks are quite inconsistent (a mix of 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm). Some feel a bit janky and almost wobbly, while others are so tight that you really have to force the cables in, some even slightly angled. I might eventually fix some of them myself if it keeps bothgering me.

I also hope the MiniBay gains the popularity it deserves so the price can come down a bit – it’s quite steep for what’s inside IMHO. I could easily see this becoming a top seller at thomann. This is not only for the fancy syth connoisseur, it is for everyone!

After Buying cables there will be great flexibility :-)

What a cool device, I've only found it quiet late.
Now I am patching CV outs from Synths to the modular rack and audio into filter and external effects much more often and easier.

Nice design with quality issues

I love the design. It makes it easy to change my signal flow whenever I feel like it and allows me to patch my desktop synths into my eurorack.

The quality is pretty bad, however. The first unit I received was conpletely unusable in normaled mode, because the signal was cutting in and out (pressing on the top panel affected the signal). Unz Unz sent me a replacement which has a similar issue in one channel, but seems to work fine otherwise.

I highly recommend Unz Unz, as they have great customer service, but I can't recommend the DF Audio Minibay because of the issues.

Great tool!

It's a handy little patch box for the desktop studio. Tested with a synth and 3 effect pedals. Plus I run a Zoom CDR-70 as master effect. Just connected the inputs on it. The dip switch on the top is a good improvement since the V1.
